April 2010 Astrology Overview
Mercury retrograde April 17th through May 11th In Taurus

IN reality the NEW YEAR Astrologically began for the planet on the 20th of March as the sun entered the sign of ARIES and so now the Shifts happening are really going to open your Life in so many wonderful new ways. As we are Learning the ongoing lessons of Faith, belief and working for what is truly needed and sustainable in our lives

WE are in the dream and reconfiguring stage this entire month. Which does not mean things begun during this time are doomed, it just means they will be reconfigured down the road and there will be quite a bit of redoing this month.
April is the 4th month of a #3 year, thus making this April 2010
A 7 month which to me is the number of (AHHH HAH, I am finally getting what this was about, and a very SPIRITUAL number) (Spirituality to me is a life which feels good in all ways to us and makes us proud of being here doing our work)
We begin April and spring of 2010 with the sun in Passionate and Intense ARIES. Aries energy is about “I AM”. as many of us change our own ides of who we really are.
Aries is Cardinal (CREATES ACTION) Fire (action and creation). The Symbol of Aries is the RAM, head down and charging forward: So, curb those rash actions and instead use the bravery and courage end of this wonderful cycle which encourages the I AM and I CAN DO in us all. Until the 19th when the Sun enters Stable Taurus.
The colors of April are all forms of RED, which is the color of passion, new beginnings; Red is the color of the first Chakra and carries unbelievable power if you wear it, or even visualize it. Did you know red in a room brings passion and energy to that room? Or to a person? RED FOR THE POWER and passion of being the best that you can be from this moment forward. Red for Forward and NOT backward.
Use Sapphire blue and the energy of this stone this month to connect you into higher consciousness and keep you on track. Or turquoise for Shamanic connection.
We are now in the time of the East and the energy all around and within us is about ILLUMINATION and Wisdom. The Eagle is the Spirit keeper for this time as we are encouraged to fly high and dare to become more than we think we can. Dandelion is the flower and the Color Yellow which is the color of joy is a great energy to use this month besides the sapphire blue and red.
Coyote is part of Mercury energy and the trickster this month is opening the doors to our inner self wider than ever before. Mercury the trickster planet of ideas, communications and planning moves retrograde on the 17th in the sign of Taurus so this may be an easier retrograde than normal. When Mercury moves direct May 11th we will have discovered some wonderful new visions of what to build in our lives and discovered many of our own personal resistances.
How best to use this Mercury retrograde time? How about Letting go of the past, letting go of structures which are integrated into your life and no longer work. Think of your life during this retrograde as soil which must be tilled in order to plant new plans, and to create the things which will carry you forward into the next years in a sustainable way. Mercury retrograde is excellent for redoing, replanning, repairing, reconfiguring, reconnecting, reapplying, and not the greatest for new businesses or new beginnings.
This month carries huge shifts as Saturn has now backed into Virgo on the 7th out of Libra and is still opposing Uranus in Pisces. Meaning that the facts and details (Virgo) of what we need to work on (Saturn) will begin to again work better with Uranus (change)
Pisces would like us to dissolve into the knowing that we are all ONE and it will all be taken care of by higher power or something equally wondrous.
Virgo would like to see the spreadsheet please before making any decisions. What this means in English is that we need to do the work and research (VIRGO) and BELIEVE and trust and be open to assistance (PISCES) and all the planet has to come in on this one for things to work out in a positive way for us all. As in all oppositions the middle usually works best, especially during Mercury retrograde.
In this theme, THE BIG news of this month is that Jupiter the planet of FAITH and supersizing energy joins with Uranus the planet of change in Pisces for the first time in over 600 years. So changes come faster and are perhaps less easy to understand. Perhaps part of this time is truly about letting go and allowing higher power to incorporate into our reality. Maybe your Plan is not higher powers plan and we all need to KNOW that something Better is coming to us is the theme now and into the next 15 years.
The Ruling planet until the 19th of April when the sun enters Taurus is Mars the God of war and passions who is in the sign of Leo still in the retrograde shadow until May 15th. So expect to be pushed forward to act without thinking, and this is a thing which should be avoided if possible. We are FIRE, fire, fire and Earth, which means many of you are going to be SO pushed into planting before the ground is ready. And if we can just slow down and look at what opens our hearts, what impassions us and what LIGHTS our fire during this next month we are given many opportunities to shift perceptions and also brings a great many new options to us
The New Moon on the 14th is at 24 degrees of Aries which has the Sabian symbol which contrary to action is about “Opening to the influx of spiritual energies”
As the sun entered Taurus on the 19th the planet which now rules the time is VENUS the goddess of love and beauty in the sign of Taurus until the 24th when she enters Gemini. The Sun, Mercury and Venus are asking us what we must have on a physical realm to survive, thrive and prosper. Taurus is about the luxuries of life but also this time has a strong energy asking us to pare down and look at making lives which are sustainable for ourselves and the planet.
Use dream energy for visions and new ideas on the 9th, 10th and 11th with the moon in Pisces. These days are great for meditation, ritual or prayer. Other miraculous days to manifest, dream your future and utilize the energy of the universe are the 27th the night before the Full moon on the 28th.
On the 28th the FULL moon with the moon at 8 degrees of Scorpio and the Sun at 8 Taurus is about building our future through visions of how it feels and is a very impassioned Full moon. The Sabian symbol for 8 Scorpio is “ A quite openness to higher inspiration” and 8 Taurus is The Value of anticipating and preparing for expectable conditions” (Sabian symbols from Dane Rudhyars An astrological mandala) As in all full moons oppositions and differences come in. And this one says to me. Trust in higher power and Lock the barn door”
After 19th when the Sun enters Taurus our theme is “I HAVE”. AND You have friends, courage, ability, intellect, joy, love, romance, life purpose, and a path. AND if you have not found these things yet, I would suggest to immediately get busy and get out there and connect while we have such wonderful planetary energy of reconfiguring our lives.
The colors of Taurus are Green for growth, Pink for love and blue for clarity of thought, word, and deed and use the Stone Emerald to improve psychic powers, sharpen intellect, intuition, vision and memory. The plant sacred to this time is the Hawthorne also known as the May tree which blooms only in May and is used for clarity, visions and psychic ability. April brings us some wonderful energies of looking at were we need to go back to the drawing board with plans, reconnection with source and maybe even some reconnection with that person who you once upon a time thought you were?
