Astrology Overview
Happy birthday To all you wonderful Sagittarius and
Capricorn people, and Happy December to all of you who this month, will begin to AWAKEN THE DREAM within the self and ANSWER to call begin to rewrite your life stories.
Traditionally the stone for December is the Ruby, which is said to connect to the vital Energy of life and energize us, also, Turquoise which is one of the first gems ever to be mined, traditionally; the Turquoise is a stone of success and prosperity. An alternate birthstone for December - the Zircon - In ancient times, it was said Heal disease, and to bring sound sleep to the wearer. Colors Sacred to December are the purples and Deep blues of peace and spirit. Plants are Pine for connection to Nature and Sage for connection to spirit, I always love the smell of Cinnamon during this time and this smell is connected to Joy.
With December being the 12th month of a number 4 year we are in a time of the magical number 7 which is about perhaps finally beginning to figure some of what has been going on around us out… 7 is a spiritual number and as we enter a 5 year of change in 2012. How about asking yourself what needs to be eclipsed on the 10th with the full moon Lunar Eclipse. This is perhaps about the OLD STORIES we tell others and ourselves. Since Full moons are times of releasing, is it perhaps time to write new stories and let those new stories be a part of 2012 and that 5 of change.
We Begin the month with Mercury (ideas) retrograde until the 13th in Sagittarius the sign asking of us all what is our truth. Mercury will remain in the retrograde Shadow until it again reaches 20 Degrees of Sagittarius where it began its backwards journey (aka Retrograde) on November 23rd. . This shadow time will not be over until January 2nd, 2012 . So perhaps we shall enter the year really for the first time questioning our past and being willing to make those much needed shifts within and without.
Uranus the planet of change moving direct on the 9th before that Lunar eclipse surely seems to begin to add more power and an stronger I can do it attitude into the new year.
Mars is now in Virgo and in the Shadow point of the retrograde already. Mars will move retrograde January 23rd, but not be out of the shadow point until July 3rd. This will be a large part of all our lives For the early Spring 2012.
Since Mars governs actions and in the sign of Virgo we can either move to the healing energy of Virgo. Or move to the victimization and more nitty picky end of this sign. Since Mars usually only spends one and a half months in a sign, this 8 month journey into Virgo land will have all of us recognizing why we do what we do not want to do I bet.
Venus the planet of love leaves the traditional sign of Capricorn on the 20th and enters much more unconventional Aquarius. With the sun into Capricorn on the 21st , a dark of the moon the 22nd, and 23rd and a new moon in Capricorn on the 24th this Christmas is going to be an interesting one. Full of a mix of traditional values and recognition that things have shifted and perhaps lots of you will find some new ways to do the Holidays this year which involve less strain and more joy and togetherness with the people you would really like to be with?
Jupiter the planet of luck and abundance wearing the sign of Taurus will finally move direct on Christmas day opening us to some very forward feeling energy by the end of the year.
Of course Pluto in Capricorn will be making what is called a Square to Uranus the planet of change for the next 5 years, so Change in Politics and the way we manage our lives seems impossible to avoid. With all the other Large Outer planets now moving forward this bring us into a new year with much to be thankful for.
For this season how about giving yourself a gift of freedom from routine? This is what most of us will be wanting and only you can give this to yourself.
The sun in Sagittarius is a time of great inner visions for us if we are listening to our own truths. Then on the 21st on the Winter solstice the sun will enter Capricorn and then the real building time begins and we more clearly see the next step…and .. We will have a clearer vision of what we need to be building. December is filled with sacred festivals, as many early religions celebrated the birth of the Sun
Advent, the four-week spiritual preparation for Christmas began this year on
- November 27 - First Sunday of Advent
- December 4 - Second Sunday of Advent
- December 11 - Third Sunday of Advent
- December 18 - Fourth Sunday of Advent
This emphasis on spiritual matters is shared by nature religions in preparation for the return of the Sun at the Winter Solstice. Advent is a time to celebrate the Light in the midst of darkness. Christmas, symbolizes the return of the Light to the world, and the gift of Life.
Hanukkah (Chanukah), the Jewish Holiday of Lights is an eight-day celebration of hope and faith that begins (at sundown on December 20th). It is a time used to reaffirm beliefs and to be thankful for successes and achievements.
December 21st as the sun enters Capricorn we celebrate the Winter Solstice, or Yule Now is the pause of midwinter; the longest night of the year. We celebrate this day as the beginning of the Great Wheel of the Zodiac, the Wheel of Life, at the time of the turning point when the Sun is reborn to the world. Look for Meteor showers as the Ursids Meteors will be lighting up the sky on the 22nd of December. Meteors are said to symbolize hosts of angelic beings who bring gifts of light at regular times throughout the year to help the people of Earth through difficult times.
Yes 2012 will bring changes and many shifts to us all and isn't it time that we begin to truly look into the mirror and recognize what is important for our world, our friends, our community, our children, and that we are right now by what we do and say creating the future.
I wish you a wonderful December and Happy new year for 2012 and I would wish to give you the gift which was given to me once, the realization that Spirituality is when I am doing my job well, and living my life as best I can and by doing that I am honoring all the spiritual energies of this world and the next. And helping the planet, and isn't that truly what Spiritual energy is?
