What is an eclipse? First, there are 2 types of eclipses which ALWAYS happen within 2 weeks of each other. (2 times per year) LUNAR eclipses and SOLAR eclipses. I believe that knowing where these eclipses will happen for a client and myself is one of the greatest tools that we can have. Knowing that for a few weeks each year we are HIGHLY activated in a certain part of our astrology chart can surely give us a heads up on timing and much more.

Often eclipses reverberate for at least 6 months and more often the next year and Those eclipse spots really are powerful houses or areas of change for yourself.

The General rule is no surgery or major events for a week before and a week after an eclipse. If you cannot avoid this 2 week Window. Please try and avoid a day or 2 before or after the eclipse for anything major like surgery or signing contracts.

Remember, NO FEAR, it is just that the universe is not behaving normally and often people have problems sleeping and things do not go as smoothly as we might like..as we are eclipsing energy which normally flows to us in order to create change.

Eclipses have happened in clusters of 2 per year for as long as this planet has been here so there is truly nothing to worry about, just look at these eclipse dates as doors opening (Lunar eclipse) into the Now and Solar eclipse (into the past) (Only in order for us to learn, not to roll around in what if’s and should have beens).

So, First, lets look at a Lunar eclipse. For many of us the FULL moon is a time to think of romance, love and yearn for far off places. This energy of the Full moon Lunar eclipse happens 2 times per year with a BANG as the earth delivers us a FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE.

Eclipses eclipse the energy (planet and sign) they are using. As in a LUNAR eclipse we are allowed to ECLIPSE the past, (the moon) to block the energy of the past and with the energy of a FULL MOON release the past and move forward into a BRAVE new world.

Astronomy wise the Lunar eclipse can only occur at the FULL Moon as the moon passes through some portion of the Shadow of Planet earth. We have the earth blocking the suns rays from reaching the moon …So as Mother Earth creates a Shadow that the moon can pass through we have a LUNAR eclipse. These eclipses can be partial or total depending on longititude and latitude and what part of the world you are residing in and experiencing the eclipse.

ECLIPSES are the wild card, they were the portents or omens of what the future would hold In olden times as Kings and Princes consulted astrologers for the omens of the eclipse patterns. Countries rose and fell, wars were fought and much more on the omens which were predicted from eclipse patterns.

In your life I can tell you that where the Lunar eclipses happen you have the opportunity to move forward and eclipse that past if you choose. LUNAR ECLIPSES allow us to CLEARLY See what is going on RIGHT now and oftentimes allow us to make decisions from that clear vision.

Solar Eclipses are When the moon (the past) covers more and more of the sun (the now) as it moves across the sun and blocks it from view. Solar eclipses seem to block the now and allow us to process information gleaned from past experiences in order to learn from the past and make new decisions. Solar eclipses are spots in your astrology chart where you are going to be getting a Great deal of Learning. The intention of a SOLAR eclipse is that we look at the past only in order to learn and then move forward with the information and not get caught in the past in any way.

Solar eclipses happen at the NEW MOON and often are the most powerful energy of the 2 types of eclipses. On both these eclipses I tell clients what do you want to ECLIPSE in your life? Right now, we will have an opportunity to magically wipe away certain things and isn’t that a gift?

Since Eclipses are easily predicted and have been a part of prediction for thousands of years on this planet there are patterns and regularities in all eclipses. The eclipse cycle generally happens in the same sign which contains the North and South nodes and pulls the North node (where we need to be going) and the South node (our past) into the energy of Eclipses.

2009 is no exception and we have first eclipses asking us to break free from the past and create a new future as the Nodes are carrying Heart centered energy of Leo and Rule Breaking energy of Aquarius. Air (ideas) And Fire (action) seems the theme of early 2009.

Eclipse Dates for 2009

Please remember an eclipse is an event that lasts for at least 6 months so do not Expect all of the issues brought forward by each Eclipse to be solved within a week or so. Many of our issues on this planet have been going on for thousands of years haven’t they?

January 25, 2009: 11:55pm pst - SOLAR ECLIPSE WITH THE SUN AND MOON at 7 degrees of Aquarius Solar eclipses BLOCK THE now and allow us to see past actions and maybe repeat past patterns they are extremely powerful. (SABIAN SYMBOL A child is born from an Egg, free of the bonds of hereditary patterns).

February 9, 2009: 6:49am pst LUNAR ECLIPSE with the moon at 21 Leo (NEW Spiritual experiences) and the sun at 21 Aquarius (resilience under adversity and courage to brave hardships) Lunar eclipses ALLOW US TO SEE WHERE WE ARE NOW and move us out Of the past into the FUTURE. They are very powerful.

July 07, 2009 PDT: 2:21am LUNAR ECLIPSE with the moon at 15 Capricorn (the responsibility of society to ensure the welfare and total health of the new generation) and the sun at 15 Cancer (Materialization of the spiritual energy and manifesting abundance) Lunar eclipses ALLOW US TO SEE WHERE WE ARE NOW and move us out Of the past into the FUTURE. They are very powerful.

The Sabian Symbol for this eclipse is about spirituality and foals. Using our souls purpose to create inner and outer peace and to move out into the world to assist to help build a better world.

This eclipse is the first of a CANCER CAPRICORN Theme which will be repeating itself over the next few years) Capricorn is CARDINAL EARTH Building energy and this sign asks of us “What are you here to do, what are you here to achieve? How can you make the world and yourself better? The shadow side of Capricorn can be controlling and trying to fix others and not working on self. Blame and guilt can be a part of the Cancer shadow side and Capricorn also so we all need to work carefully on OUR OWN STUFF this next 2 years.

Cancer is a Cardinal Water sign and water MUST FLOW and reach its own level and deal with its own FEELINGS and energy. And for us all dealing with our personal emotions will be part of this theme.

Healthy Cancer energy asks how can I nurture and learn to care for self in order to teach and help others? The shadow side of Cancer is, are we martyring ourselves, sacrificing ourselves in the vain hope that others will see OUR OWN needs and somehow meet them?

As you can see we are now in a theme of SELF CARE, self responsibility and to see what we are building (Capricorn) and what we are flowing with emotionally. What are we building with our feelings and emotions?

July 21st, 2009 SOLAR ECLIPSE, 7:34pm PDT with the sun and moon at 30 Cancer (Glorification of the past) Solar eclipses BLOCK THE now and allow us to see past actions and maybe repeat past patterns they are extremely powerful.

300 degrees of any sign carries tremendous importance as it is at the end of one energy and right at the beginning of another energy. This eclipse strongly involves PLUTO which is currently residing for the next 20 years in the sign of Capricorn. So, here we are again involving ourselves with not just CARDINAL Water which is the energy of Cancer but with the building energy of Capricorn.

New moons are great times to set intentions and really connect with our path. This year we have 2 new moons in Cancer, The first new moon was June 22nd and now with this Solar eclipse new moon on July 21st, we are really getting into the feeling of Cancer. So, lets all make wishes for inner peace, inner security and recognize that we are at a major turning point in the way we handle our emotions and our lives. GOOD and WONDERFUL things are possible, and as we look at the past in order to learn from the future lets get the most out of this powerful eclipse for the next 2 weeks.

August 05, 2009, (3rd eclipse in 90 days) LUNAR ECLIPSE 5:55pm PDT Full moon with the moon at 14 Aquarius (Seeing what needs to be done and cutting through red tape and with others assistance getting it done) and the sun at 14 Leo. (The human soul seeks a way to outwardly manifest itself) Lunar eclipses allow us to see where we are now and move us out of the past into the FUTURE. They are very powerful.

Here we are back at the LEO and Aquarius energy for the final time as we are asked to look at what Needs to be changed in your minds (air, Aquarius ) and in our hearts (Fire, Leo) .. This eclipse brings in the planets Jupiter, (faith) Chiron, (healing) and Neptune (creation through imagination) traveling backwards in strong aspect with this eclipse in the sign of Aquarius. This month the Nodes which are the DESTINY point of mankind make the shift from Leo and Aquarius into CANCER and CAPRICORN so lets use this final energy of this eclipse to break with the past, begin new ways of finding connections to our passions and recognize that we are truly in power over our lives. So why not use it?

This is the SEE clearly eclipse so If you do not like what you see, HOW about changing it?

December 31, 2009, Lunar Eclipse Full Moon 11:13am pst With the moon at 10 Degrees of Cancer (Training for perfection) and the Sun at 10 Degrees of Capricorn. (The overcoming of fear and its rewards) Lunar eclipses allow us to see where we are now and move us out of the past into the FUTURE. They are very powerful.

This eclipse we have the NODES (solar destiny points for humanity) now in Cancer and Capricorn taking us into a 3 year of learning and connections in 2010

Eclipses the beginning of 2010

January 14, 2010 Solar Eclipse New moon 11:11pm pst 25 Degrees of Capricorn (Reliance upon tradition and seeking material comfort) Solar eclipses BLOCK the Now and allow us to see past actions and maybe repeat Past patterns, they are extremely powerful.

Remember this is a SOLAR eclipse and it is blocking the NOW and allowing you to look backwards at tools and abilities. This eclipse carries Mercury retrograde with it in the sign of Aquarius allowing us another more powerful energy to access the wise and ancient wisdom of our souls..

To quote the theme of Dr. Pat Baccili, these are CRUST BUSTING Eclipses. Meaning that the hardened resistances many of us have will no longer be able to withstand the shifts and changes coming for the planet and ourselves.

REMEMBER SOLAR ECLIPSES are NEW MOON days and are highly charged with new beginnings. AND LUNAR ECLIPSES ARE FULL MOON Days and carry that energy of endings, and what must be let go of so that the next new moon we have room and space to bring in more of what we need in our lives.

The themes of 2009 are change, change and HELP the world. The outer signs are about being part of the whole and We do need to find our passion and our joy (Leo) and do the work (Virgo) to get this happening for ourselves don’t we in 2008 and 2009? THE HUGE shift in August 2009 as the Nodes move from Fixed energy (LEO) (Aquarius) Fire and air, Male type of energy into CARDINAL (initiating action energy) Female Water (CANCER) and Earth (CAPRICORN).

(Please see the articles on the nodes shifting for more information) But for all of us we can sure expect to be thinking outside the box to become normal for yourself and those around you and accept that being open to new ideas and philosophies will be a huge part of this time.

So Enjoy these eclipses, take some time off to look at what needs to be released in your life at each Lunar eclipse and be open to bring new things in with the Solar eclipses and lets CHANGE THE WORLD In 2009 and 2010 but recognize we must often first change ourselves to change the world.
