The Energy of Saturn

In astrology we often give Saturn the energy of discipline and duty a hard rap. Nobody enjoys the visiting of this energy (CALLED A TRANSIT) less than a freedom loving Libra like myself.

And nobody probably needs this planets assistance more than I do, since organization and getting my act together usually involve, 3 friends, a large truck, 2 men, a dog and a pony, and a great deal of prayer from all concerned.

Saturn for the last 1 and ½ years has been in the sign of Cancer. And since this water (cardinal) initiating action sign encourages emotions and also is the sign of GOD, COUNTRY, and has a bit of holding on energy? Well, needless to say we have all experienced since 9/11 the fears and doubts which this transit of this planet has brought.

On the good side, this planet has also brought us all the knowledge of how important God, Country, Family, Home, Security, Peace and all those Cancer loving things are to us.

Saturn this July will finally get out of Water (FEELINGS) and into FIRE (action) for us all. Myself, I shall pray and hope and pray some more that this transit for the first time in 29 years will move all of us to search out that which our heart desires.

Fire is about action, Fixed Fire that is Leo, has the tenacity to go for the gold and to keep in the race until it is won. And/ but also the sign of Leo is about your passion, what makes your heart sing and what would truly move you towards a greater sense of being in connection with your DESTINY. 

Saturn takes approximately 29 1/2 years to make a complete circle of all 12 signs of the zodiac. So, it brings to most of us 2 Saturn returns, which are at approximately 29 and 59 years of age. Saturn returns ask "HAVE YOU DONE YOUR WORK?" IF you have done your work, this can be the greatest time of reaping huge rewards, and if not? Then sometimes this is not the happiest of visits from a planet that you may receive.

Saturn is an energy regarding the laws of MANIFESTING what we want in the world. Saturn has the ability to help us focus, concentrate and work our Karma. YES, this is the PLANET of Karma and where it is in your chart shows where you have more work to do than you might be happy with. Since Karma is nothing but an action in the past which pulls us to do the same action again and again.

With Saturn in the Sign of Leo from July 2005 we are now being offered an option to go where our HEART and SOUL leads us. Too many people requiring too much of most of us has been what the last 2 years have brought to many of us. It is now time for fears, doubts and worry to be left behind as we move bravely forward assisted by this powerful planet.

Saturn says "WHERE YOU PUT YOUR ideas, feelings, emotions, work, energy" is where you will MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN: IN the sign of LEO we are not so much into feeling as into action and bravery and all kinds of proactive energies. Remember, with all signs there is a positive as well as negative.

All the fire signs have strong anger buttons, and can act more quickly than is sometimes indicated by events. IF you can find that space out of judgment and looking inwards at your heart energy, you will do harm to none and find the perfect and divine action to take for yourself and others.

Now as this leaves the sign of Cancer on July 16, 2005 to enter Leo we are being asked to look at our own reality through the filters of how it feels to us. Cancer is the sign of experiencing feelings, intuition and a sense of connection to our own past and our own history. Cancer is water sign which equals (EMOTIONS) and Cardinal which is a sign which demands ACTION. Leaving this energy Saturn seems to gain power and also a lot less compassion, so use care to make sure that Compassion, nurturing and honoring others is a part of your path over the next 2 years with Saturn.

Saturn is not our enemy, this large planet of ultimate outcomes gives us exactly what we put into it. Saturn has the job of accountability and where it is in your chart is surely going to access greater understandings of yourself and a great connection to what you REALLY WANT TO DO: Now, isn't that a wonderful gift for us all?
