January 2009 is an 11 Master Spiritual year of relationships for us all upon Mother Earth. We are asked not to just partner in our ordinary way but to step up to extraordinary efforts of helping our fellow humans as well as being open to some pretty Wild and Wonderful partnerships coming to us personally.
January 2009 has a stellar line up of planets creating a GRAND TRINE OF earth energy. Planets are nothing more than actors helping us act out our parts on the stage of life. This year the stage is set for us to truly begin creating lasting values and if you are ready to LIVE your values in all areas of your life you are going to like the outcome.
Saturn the planet of discipline and obligation in the sign of Virgo further increases its message to slim down, get rid of unnecessary clutter and become a lean, mean spiritual machine. New Years day we have Ceres the Goddess of the Grain and the harvest in this healing sign of Virgo also, asking us again, to look at what we have and use our resources carefully.
Vesta the asteroid about sacred connections in the Earth sign of Taurus asks us to look at Mother Earth and to make sacred contracts with not only others and ourselves, but with the planet and all living life upon it. In Capricorn the 3rd earth sign we have PLUTO the planet of the evolutionary journey of the soul for the next 15 years asking that we change our politics, and our laws and much more. Mars the planet of action, the Sun (the light) Juno (equality in partnerships) Jupiter (expansion and hope) and Mercury all are in Capricorn creating a STRONG Trine of Building earth energy.
In the (air) (ideas) sign of Aquarius we have the North Node, Chiron, Neptune and Venus asking us again to be original, unique and be open to changes.
The moon sitting at 3 degrees of Pisces opens our year up with Hope and faith and a stronger connection to intuition. Uranus the planet of change in this sign also indicates a wonderful year if we are willing to do the work and Believe.

Saturn moving backwards (retrograde) all this month in the sign of Virgo will lessen some of the stresses around you in order to give you a bit of breathing space but double check all details and be aware that this is probably not the month to make major shifts and changes in your life.
January 10th we have a Full moon in the signs of Cancer and Capricorn and many of us will be looking at security, investments, jobs, business, finances and making some major shifts and changes. Please use extreme care during this time listing property, moving finances around or making any types of contracts.
Mercury Retrograde from January 11th (7 Degrees of Aquarius) really gives us a run for our money as Mercury (communications, ideas, contracts) backs up into Capricorn on the 20th and we are asked to revise some of our plans As well as be open to some real surprises. Mercury will move direct on January 31st at 11:11pm pst at 21 Degrees of Capricorn. This Mercury retrograde stitches us through some interesting possible contractual foul ups until it reaches 7 degrees of Aquarius on February 21st which is the degree where it retrograded.
This time will be more difficult for contracts, agreements, sales and purchases than a normal mercury retrograde due to the Eclipses happening January 25th A solar Eclipse New moon at 6 Degrees of Aquarius trying to push us into a bit more risks than are good for us.

The January 25th Solar eclipse involves the not only a NEW moon Solar Eclipse but the eclipse encompasses Mercury (ideas and contracts, going backwards) Jupiter (trying to supersize everything for us) as well as the normal Solar eclipse. Which seems to blocks the present and allows us to review the past in order to see what needs to change.
On the 19th when the sun shifts to Aquarius many of us will be ready to make that LEAP forward on faith alone. Remember the Grand trine of earth, double check all details and Be aware that Less is the theme of Capricorn and Virgo so we are in a time of paring down Rather than amping up. Less can be more if your life is more can’t it?
The era of Capricorn is here (please do not think a sign is like a person you know) Keywords for Capricorn are: the archetype of the wise Elder, “LAW and ORDER”, as it seeks to structure in very concrete ways the truths (or errors) discovered over the last 20 years.
Although Capricorn brings form, responsibility, and consequences through time and is ruled by Saturn, or Chronos, Father Time in ancient astrology. Capricorn is not an earth sign with any intention of sitting around and anchoring into anything which is Not working properly for the good of the all. Capricorn relates to the voice of Truth and conscience.
I agree with my peers who all feel as I do that it is time to tighten our belts and recognize that in all Expansion, like in breathing there must be an intake of breathe, and that is where we are now. WE have had this huge Exhalation and growth, and now we pull in to bring in the resources for the next expansion. Pulling in, is our key now, and recognizing that “change Is here, and Less truly can be more”
For us all, Slow and steady works well during this month. Do research and check out details and recognize that after that Lunar eclipse February 9th you are going to have Lots more information than you do during the month of January. This eclipse will be in the signs of Leo and Aquarius and will allow you to see more clearly where you are. This February eclipse also involves some confusing energy (all the better to help us change on Planet earth) I truly believe with all my heart and soul that the world coming will be so much better than the one which many of our children have grown up in. We have had, Values of name brand tennis shoes, Bigger and bigger autos, larger homes, more bills, more credit card debt, all those things are going to shift to something much better.
Maybe a world where animals are protected as well as our fellow humans? Where we all have a roof over our heads and food to eat? Where healthcare is there for all and we truly become that which we always have been in our souls.
DO not be depressed, sad, or frightened, you are going to meet wonderful fellow travelers and have wondrous experiences as you discover how truly fantastic the human race is ..As an astrologer I have seen it and KNOW good things are coming, get ready for some fun and a better world in 2009.
