March 2010 Overview

The month of March has always been known as the time for Passion and Action as well as many holy and sacred energies. Thus this month is named for the Planet Mars who is now VERY happy to finally be moving onwards after a 7 month path of retrograde (apparently moving backwards) in the heart centered sign of Leo. Big news of the month is not only the SPRING EQUINOX on the 20th but Mars direct on the 10th in Leo.
Mars will remain in the retrograde SHADOW until May 15th so heart centered energy will focus us in all endeavors. Imagination is strong so IMAGINE the best outcome.
Happy BIRTHDAY Pisces and Aries as we enter your soul contract time
And time for all of us to step into our contracts:

The REAL 2010 NEW YEAR begins on the 20th as the SUN MOVES TO ARIES. Here in Seattle the Spring Equinox happens at 10:32am as the Sun enters Aries we enter the time of the EAST, the time of Illumination and Wisdom. The time of spring. AND the VERNAL Equinox. In American Indian Tradition . The time of the east is about the EAGLE and the season is spring. The time of day is dawn and the colors are red and gold. The powers of the East are ILLUMINATION and WISDOM this year MARCH 20th until April 19th is the BUDDING TREES moon.
People born under this moon are the RED HAWK people. Their plant is the Dandelion, their color is yellow and their stone is the fire opal, and their clan is the THUNDERBIRD Clan. Like the hawk, these folks are quick to fly into things, or out of them. And whenever you were born we all get to use this energy during this time.
And, Until March 20th the sun in Pisces is working hard to help us realign with our inner knowing and Beliefs are very strong as we are in the time of Water or feelings and intuition and imagination. What is it that you believe and how do you manifest what you believe with Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces most of the year seems our theme.
On the 13th , 14th, 15th Pisces energy is almost palatable. We have the magical dark of the moon intention time on the 13th and 14th and the 15th the new moon at 25 Pisces seems to bring spiritual practices into our daily lives.
The Sabian symbol (Dane Rudhyar “An Astrological Mandala”) says of this 25 degree spot. “The power of the soul to intervene in the personal life and to induce necessary catharses” He talks of large organizations coming down because their goals had become MONEY rather than vision and so I would expect lots of hidden things to become very visible this month. New moons are seed planting times and energy increases until that Full moon on the 29th of this month. So be ready to bring in great new ideas and fun.
March is the 3rd month of a number 3 year making this a number 6 month Of love and service and duty. 6 months are often not the easiest and much of what happens around us this month will become much clearer in April when we enter the number 7 month of AHHH HAAA, that is what that was about.
The key to handling the new energy of Spring 2010 is truly believing in yourself, as we enter the time of “I AM” As the Sun enters Aries …We do become what we think we are so I AM ___ statements are POWERFUL now. It is Only by processing values (Values to me are what I PUT energy into, not what I say is important but what I do.
Remember that ENERGY FLOWS WHERE ATTENTION GOES and The sun shifting from Pisces into Aries is helping to push us towards the courage to move forward A bit out of the dream state into the action state.
Mercury the planet of ideas and Visions is in the visually stimulating sign of Pisces until the 17th and on St. Patty’s day we all get an added RUSH as Mercury moves to Aries and more of that (lets do it RIGHT NOW) energy pushes us forward.
Remember Saturn retrograde in Libra all month asks that we slow down and Reprocess our goals about relationships, work and personal and recognize that since the rules seem to be a bit suspended that others may not like being pushed by us.
March 20th on the Vernal Equinox we reach the midpoint of equality of day and night light halves of the year, when the days and nights are equal at the equator. It is the midpoint between the Solstices (the turning points of the Sun's yearly motion. AND the Equinoxes are powerful times for us energetically as we are asked to SHIFT and change.
Saturn’s (discipline, duty, work and obligations) square with Pluto the energy of transformation in Capricorn (is asking you to shift your perception) with Pluto being the POWER guy of the sky, a push pull energy is strong. Both these planets Saturn and Pluto want to be boss and in signs which are very different if we use BOTH energies we get a real power house and learn much, but flowing to one side or the other may not work as well as we might like.
Remember, please a very big part of the theme this month as the urge to push and MAKE IT happen is at war with the Pisces energy asking us to first sit back and dream the dream before putting it into concrete. Using both these energies is going to assure some HUGE leaps for lots of us, and I would take you back to last months suggestions for ideas for the rest of the year..
- Wait 24 hours before making major decisions.
- Stop and breathe energetically deeply MUCH more often each day bringing in Light and peace and calming and letting go of the stress and stuff we are picking Up from others.
- Recognize that there may be a plan better than our plan and when we quit Resisting it just could be here for us.
- Be open to doing what you said you would NEVER DO and find that you enjoy It and be open to being delighted and surprised at your own Willingness to change.
- Know that change is here and our part is to KNOW and believe that it is for the best
(these are the rules of a happy road trip for us all riding 2010 energy).
For Love energy, (and love is anything we like isn’t it) Venus (the planet of earthly love and manifesting) is in the dreamy sign of Venus until the 7th when it moves to Aries (get the idea?) Dream what you want and then begin to take action.
March traditionally carries a great many Christian traditions as well as Pagan and other religions. This has long been held a High, sacred Holy month of beginnings. Purim this year was the 28th of February and will continue for 2 days until Monday, the 1st of March.
February March 25th is the Annunciation or the announcement from the angel Gabriel that Mary would carry the Christ Child into earthly birth. This strong spiritual energy is carried through most religious traditions.
Palm Sunday is March 28th this year and it commemorates the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Current ceremonies include the blessing of the palms, the ashes of which are used on next year's Good Friday to symbolize the passion and sacrifice of the Crucifixion. The palm tree stands for hope in the future (The palm is the tree of life in the Babylonian Garden of Eden story).
March 28 is also one of the Buddhist celebrations of Quan Yin, goddess of mercy, wisdom, healing and compassion. She was a holy woman who gave up her Buddhist state to help bring enlightenment to all of humanity. So, as you can see there are a great many powerful energies gathering around us this March 2010.
Energetically we are readying ourselves for Easter which In the Wiccan religion it is called Ostara, named after Oestra, goddess of spring. It is the celebration of life returning to the Earth on April 4 in 2010.
The full moon on Monday the 29th 7:25pm pst begins to set us up for the next month this full moon has the sun at 9 degrees of Aries and the moon at 9 Libra. This moon encounters Saturn retrograde and will be the defining weekend for many who are on the fence about relationships. Recognizing that letting go for the next 2 weeks is the energetic pull of Full moons, many will be letting go of old ideas and beliefs and maybe even actual relationships…
The Sabian Symbol for 9 degrees of Libra is “the need to return to source during a confused search for new values in a chaotic society” and 9 Aries is “A crystal gazer, the development of an inner realization of organic wholeness” Dane Rudhyars Astrological Mandala.
