Saturn (Father Time) now turns the Clock to relationships as Saturn moves into Libra for the first time in 29 and ½ years October 29, 2009.

For the last 2 and ½ years we have experienced Saturn the planet of rules, obligations, duty and how we maintain and organize our life in the mutable Earth sign of Virgo. The less is more theme of elimination and working to make our lives manageable is almost up. The next step on the karmic evolutionary ladder is “have we learned the lesson of Self nurturing, self connection, self care enough to now bring others in to play the game of life with us”

Saturn truly is the great teacher and the economic changes, health care changes, and new ways of thinking of the mind/body connection have been gifts of this planet wearing the costume of Virgo. Virgo is very analytical and in Astrology what is known as a Mutable sign, which is the energy as we end one season and begin another. Mutable kind of likes to go with the flow and not make waves normally. We have had so many options this last 2 and ½ years , and at times been confused as to what steps to take with so much energy in signs which truly do not push us to take action. All that is changing majorly this Fall 2009.

Saturn likes to take control and since Libra is the Cardinal Air sign which begins fall on this planet expect lots of control issues regarding fairness, inequality, and balance to come up for us to be working on…. (Cardinal is the energy which begins projects and cannot seem to sit still for long. When a major planet enters a Cardinal sign as Pluto did when it entered Cardinal Earth Capricorn in 2009 Major things begin to happen on the planet and within ourselves).

Libra energy says “without sharing, relating with others and making strong connections with others truly I am alone and can only grow so far ” . Saturn says, I must do the work to make this happen at the very LEAST within myself, at the best out in the world with others.

The theme of Woman power, or Black power, or Man power, or Strength through differences is coming to an end. It is now time for us to meet the “Other” and at the same time maintain our own sense of integrity within relationships. Have we learned this yet is perhaps the question for some of us? Not to worry, here comes the new energy to show you where you need to shift and where you have already graduated and maybe did not even know it yet.

Saturn the planet of duty really likes the sign of Libra much more than it did the energy of Virgo. Saturn in Libra says lets “Work” on building Win, win situations. As in all air signs Libra is a sign of thinking about things, people, ideas, and communicating them or sharing them with others. Libra likes to find new ways of thinking and being willing to find the balance within all things is the theme to Libra with the Scales as the symbol of this 7th sign of the zodiac.

The shadow, and there is always a shadow to all energies is… Can you maintain your own sense of who you are as you merge with others? Are you still behaving in old co-dependent ways. Are you still trying for approval from everyone thinking that finally you can find love that way?

Saturn in Libra asks you, Can you use the Opposite end of Libra with is Aries energy to stand firm in your own power as you then join and share this strength with another without compromising your values and ideas? Libra often is said to be a sign which will choose to walk away without fighting. Yet, this sign is the sun sign of more Generals than any other sign, perhaps because of the energy of diplomacy which often comes to us all when strong Libra energy is present.

So, if you have relationship junk still hanging around. Old patterns of “picking the wrong person” or Giving in when you know you should stand firm. Being Mr. or Mrs. NICE when you want to be anything but that? Well, here come those issues as tests in order that you can pass them and not deal with that in another incarnation.

I am a Libra sun sign and I cannot say that Saturn entering my sign is going to be the happiest of times because Saturn makes us work and when it is our sun sign we truly are going to be pushed forward perhaps a bit more than we are comfortable with. And I can feel that energy already calling in my life as some really weird disagreements have surfaced and I become more and more aware of inequalities in some of my relationships.

My old issues of co-dependency and issues of abandonment will be surfacing for a final shot at me clearing them this lifetime. (By the time this planet comes around again in 30 years if I am still here I doubt that I shall be much interested in working this program).

Oftentimes we discover when we are feeling abandoned or giving too much to another that it really was just our own projection. That perhaps those other people did not expect this of us and of course did not give this back to us because they did not recognize that we gave this to them because we wished to receive this back from them. Perhaps expecting others to be mind readers?

Good communications will become the key over this next few years as we struggle more and more to become the best that we can be (Pluto in Capricorn) and the Nodes moving into Capricorn and Cancer this year (see nodal article) and still have peaceful and loving relationships with family, friends, co workers and maybe that significant other person. AKA SOP.

Or Soul mate as some of you like to think of romantic encounters. Myself my personal relationships have been soul mate/teachers and I have learned much from those I love and continue to do so. Work is the theme for the next 20 years on this planet but we are getting some magical energy of change your mind, change your life. Libra being an air sign, we get another player on the team which wants us to Community, think and share ideas with others In order to change the world and change the person in the mirror.

I surely am feeling some old stuff surfacing and working hard to let go, how about you?

We are firmly in the Aquarian age and the absolute necessity of seeing each other as separate but still part of the collective energy will be all which will carry us through the economy and world relationships. Libra does not like to see differences but rather likes to see similarities. So may of you locked into old ways of thinking about a certain sex, religion, sexual orientation, whatever… you could just find yourself finding that there is a way to evolve through those old struggles and win as the other person gets to win also… Wow … what a concept…

Where Saturn is traveling in your chart will bring you some lessons. 11th house of groups and Friendships and the 12th house of Karma for me. But we will see this energy everyplace we look as more and more of us share living spaces, job share, ride to work together, and begin to live closer on this planet.

We will all Recognize that some old relationships can no longer be recycled.. and many more recognize they do not want to be along anymore. And this opening leaves a space for new and better and more positive people to come into your life. I have been saying for the last 2 years Want something to happen which has not happened before: Do something you have not done before. AND Now we will have to add, and think and communicate in a way you have not done before to that theme.

So. Lets begin right now, immediately. When someone ticks you off by a belief or idea which is different than yours. Listen, and honor that spot and recognize that maybe in the world that person lives in, that is the TRUTH (right now) The key to how to use this energy without going ballistic as you listen to someone who you think is the village idiot….is the “”RIGHT NOW”” theme.

JUST for right now, you can stand up for what you believe in quietly and with dignity without caving into someone else can’t you? And Just for right now, you can perhaps be patient with someone who has not learned YOUR Truth yet, can’t you? All of us can do this one Hour, and one day at a time. AND recognize that that relationship you have always wanted Has to begin in one place. That place is within you. How can you expect anyone to treat you better than you treat yourself? If you cannot make a good relationship with self how can you make one with another person?

If you are the martyr or the victim won’t you find the villain? But if you are great hearted, open and willing to share, and into equality, won’t you find that person instead of the villain? IT is your theme, your energy, and YOUR TIME:: be open to miracles but with Saturn there is ALWAYS work involved. BE BRAVE, get out there and do the work and you will find at the end of this transit you are no longer alone.

AT the very worst, you will have found yourself and be your own best friend and at the best you will have found others along the way who think as highly of you as you do yourself. GET busy to do the work you need to feel happy with yourself and see what happens. And this begins…

August 17th, 2009 Mercury the planet of communication hits 21 Degrees of Virgo

ON September 6, 2009 Mercury moves retrograde at 6 degrees of Libra

On September 17th mercury backs back into Virgo

And on 9/29/2009 Mercury moves direct at 21 degrees of Virgo

On September 5th Mercury reaches 6 degrees of Libra.

As you can see Mercury has something called a SHADOW Point which is the space this planet travels back and forth over 3 times during a retrograde cycle. Saturn will repeat this cycle in 2010 and this energy in Summer/Fall 2009 is the test run for Saturn.
